  • Country/Region of Manufacture: Germany
  • Modified Item: No
  • Brand: Montblanc
  • Nib Size: Medium (M)
  • Ink Color: Black
  • Condition: Fascinated by fountain pens, companion rollerballs and ballpoints; I soon found that price often had little to do with construction, looks or writing quality. I’ve sold or gifted many pens but still have some I’ll ever use. Every pen I sell works well as I tweak them for smoothness whether entry level or spendy. Maybe a bit lazy, I have tried to bundle some pens in small lots, mixing them into combinations that might appeal to the budding collector, or someone who wants to carry and use pens of distinction. Description

Wonderful pen excellent shape.  F to M nib 14K  Yes, box, service booklet, and spare refills included which bumps the price up some..
I've enjoyed this pen, but semi retired it when I got an Ivory pair of Obliges.  Confusion about this line of Montblancs, as some sellers ID other pens as Noblesse Oblige.  To help clarify, in the early 1970's Monty introduced a new line of slender pens.  In a variety of finishes, and a  tapered clip without a third Star were ID'd as the Noblesse.  These pens were only identified as Noblesse by literature in the box.  The pens were NOT marked.  Early 80's ( I think), Montblanc split the model lineup into two.  Those first Noblesse pens remained but with a third star on the clip, re-named the Slimline models.  The company also intro'd a more upscale version marked Noblesse on the cap band.  This gen 2 Noblesse had considerably more trim ( usually gold) as well.  This pen is the third iteration of the line and marked Noblesse Oblige.  They had the same tall design (posted the pens are about 6 1/2" tall.), but are of a more normal diameter.
IMO, I think a black pen with gold trim and the MB snow cap is the essence of the Montblanc.  Ignore the crazy auction prices that usually Japanese sellers place on these pens (Just saw one listed over 0!  and most ask -300.  Nope, I'm starting at a realistic price.
