Description

Offered is this vintage kitchen tool, the "Uniform Nut Meat Chopper". The piece has a steel rectangular top hopper, chopping blades, lid and handle, a glass body made by Hazel-Atlas and a wooden knob on the end of the handle. In addition to the raised Hazel-Atlas mark, the bottom is also marked "59", "35" and "6" in raised numbers. I don't know how old the piece is but would guess 1940s-1950s?
The piece is approx. 6 1/4" high and is about 5" across, including the handle. It is in very good condition overall. There are no chips or cracks in the glass. The handle turns easily and the threaded top comes on and off well. The steel portions have light surface corrosion but much of the galvanized or painted surface is still visible. I have not cleaned the inside of the hopper or the blades; they are somewhat sticky-looking.
